Chops - I think you have the answer in your post. I doubt even the players, who's list of career achievements could be affected, would place rugby matches, however important, above the health and lives of themselves and their families.

It goes without saying that delaying the season to protect lives is absolutely the right thing to be doing, and the result of a sports competition are a minor concern compared with the current crisis, but this is an issue I have not seen discussed yet.
