Stuart Lancaster is fast becoming a coaching legend for Leeds Tykes. Less than a year into the job, he's got the Tykes to a point where winning promotion is in their own hands with four league games left to play.

When you consider the wreckage of a team he was given to start with – only seven full time professional squad members stayed on after the relegation season, and the time in which he was given to identify, contact, sign, coach and condition new players he's done a phenominal job.

He's taken a club that was downbeat and browbeaten into relegation by some big-name signings that failed to live up to expectations and a poor spirit in the camp, to a no-holds-barred, everything-for-the-shirt, never-say-die team spirit that is palpable from the stands, never mind what it's like in the dressing room.

 

Even if the unthinkable happens and promotion is missed, Lanny will have done astounding things this year.

 

So how does he do it? What's the secret? Has he just been lucky? What's he got up his sleeve for next year? These are questions we might be putting to the likeable fella. And I'm sure the readers here will have many, many more.
