SEVENTEEN Wolves Fans have been arrested in dawn raids by the Police after a violent attack following Wolves 1-0 defeat to West Ham in October 2004. There are no reports of trouble following last nights 3-3 draw with Derby County.
SEVENTEEN Wolves Fans have been arrested in dawn raids by the Police after a violent attack following Wolves 1-0 defeat to West Ham in October 2004. There are no reports of trouble following last nights 3-3 draw with Derby County.
The BBC reports that the 17 fans were involved in connection with a serious assault on four youths outside Leicester Square tube station.
Over 80 officers were involved in this mornings dawn raids codenamed operation kill-switch.
A spokeswoman for Scotland yard told the BBC "Officers from Charing Cross CID, working with colleagues from the West Midlands, have raided a number of addresses across the West Midlands."
Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey added to the
official website "Wolverhampton Wanderers fully supports the police authorities in taking action to arrest those people who are suspected of football-related violence and/or criminal activity,"
"We have a zero tolerance policy for this type of behaviour and any Wolves supporter who is convicted of a football-related offence will be banned from attending matches at Molineux indefinitely."
