Harris Ends Union Stay

David Moffett today confirmed the inevitable, that Iestyn Harris is set to leave Wales and rugby union, seeking a move back North with Super League outfit Bradford Bulls this summer.

 HARRIS QUITS

AFTER months of speculation linking him with a switch back to his native surroundings of Yorkshire and rugby league, Harris has finally confirmed his intentions to re-start his career in the thirteen man code by activating a clause in his contract that allows him to quit Cardiff and re-join Leeds.

However everything is not quite as clear cut as that, with outside half turned inside centre Harris still having a year to run on his contract with the WRU, meaning that should they wish to Harris could be forced to turn out for Wales this autumn, but that would be an unrealistic state of affairs that has already ruled out by Moffett.

"It is the most bizarre contract I have ever seen in my life," said Moffett.

"But we are bound by it. I am just flabbergasted that we agreed and signed a contract like this.

"But, as we now understand it, he is free to return to league.

"There isn't much we can do about that under the contract which was signed."
