Player ratings for the Welsh in the 60 - 3 win over Canada last night. Game was played in front of a record 12,000 fans for a Canadian home game. As usual marks out of ten, for details read on.

15. K Morgan (8) - Some great running angles and always looked to have something in the bag, its excellent news for Welsh rugby to have Kev back firing.

14. R Williams (7) - Decent work rate and another try, still looked short of self confidence, needs to back his own pace.

13. M Taylor (7) - Has to be overjoyed with the opportunity to lead the side so late in his career, as usual let no one down.

12. C Sweeney (7) - Missed some kicks, how dare he! Was creative at 12 so we do have back up there and gives Ruddock selection headaches, defence is very solid as well.

11. C Czekaj (8) - Young Check Eye didn’t let anyone down, brilliant run in for his debut try and he is just 19 a huge future.

10. N Robinson (7) - At a time when good no10s are becoming scarce Wales has another capable of joining Stephen Jones as world class, needs a bit of work on his defence and kicking out of hand but as an attacking force no complaints at all here.

9. M Phillips (7) - Solid game, distribution will never be as good as Peel but offers a big strong quick player from the base and something different at 9.

8. A Popham (7) - Brought in late and a good performance rewarded with a great no8s try.

7. C Charvis (7) - Led the pack in the heat and controlled a pushover try which takes him to 20, would have wanted a slightly more imposing performance in attack but if SCW looked at his rucking then he would surely wish he was in his squad.

6. J Thomas (9) - My Welsh MOTM, was everywhere such fitness and pace for a big man, comes into the reckoning in the Autumn after this tour.

5. L Charteris (7) -Much better than last weeks disappointment, good line out work and got himself around, we need him to progress.

4. R Sidoli (5) - Can’t fault his play where he was hard and purposeful but let the red mist get the better of him.

3. B Broster (7) -Proud day with his first Welsh start, great news for Wales is we have back up at tight head. Got a try for his troubles as well and lasted 80mins.

2. R Thomas (7) - Made some good runs and line out was solid, we have lots of young hookers and one needs to stand up to take over from Mef and McBride.

1. D Jones (8) - He was everywhere, action packed whilst he was on, good old Dunc!

Subs of note

Yapp - not the same impact as Dunc

MJ Watkins - Looked so quick when he came on

M Jones - The man from Maesteg looked cool when winning his first cap, if he keeps on improving he could be another world class fly half.

Overall:

The 40c heat subdued Wales in the 1st half before they ran riot, this tour proved the Welsh have depth and the Grand Slam should not be just a flash in the pan, the youngsters look very impressive.

And despite the attacking style of play Wales did not conceed a try, top marks to Clive Griffiths.

Next up it’s the big Autumn games, will Wales pick up some big wins?
