Despite being carried off in last Sundays match, scrum half Paul Knight is hoping his season is not over after his try saving tackle ended his cup game. Knight was injured in the clubs semi final game against Zurich Premiership team, Newcastle Falcons. There were fears that the 24 year olds season had come to an early end after it was discovered he had sustained cracked ribs. But Knight is hoping to come back for the last few games of the season.

He will be going for some tests in a few weeks time which will give a better indication of how long he will be out for, and if a comeback this season is a realistic aim. If this is the end of the season for him, he will obviously be disappointed. However he will be able to look back on an amazing campaign after spending the season high up the league table, getting the furthest the club has ever gone in the cup, beating the English Champions – something that Knight admitted to be something non one would have expected of the part timers.

On talking to the local press about the Newcastle game he said "We defended as well as we did against Wasps for long periods at Newcastle, but the difference was that we didn't take it to them as well,"

That meant that we were always defending. We looked really tired by the end and Newcastle exploited that like a good full-time side would."

So who is going to stand in for the first choice scrum half while he is nursing his injury? Knight believes that Tom Richardson has the quality to be in the Bees starting line up.
