Sculthorpe, who is expected to be named as the new Great Britain captain next Tuesday, has been dogged by a back injury which led to a torn hamstring.

Saints coach Ian Millward has refused to rush his influential playmaker back into action but said on Tuesday: "I'm pretty confident he'll play."

Mark Edmondson and Ade Gardner and are also included in an 18-strong squad.
