Warrington handed Whitehaven tie in cup

Wolves drawn at home to Cullens former club Whitehaven in round 5.

Warrington Wolves will face LHF National League One side Whitehaven at The Halliwell Jones Stadium in the 5th Round of the Powergen Challange Cup. Whitehaven were awarded this tie following there 28-16 victory at Batley Bulldogs in the last round.

Warrington did meet Whitehaven in the Powergen Challange Cup in 2004 in the Quater Final stage, when the Wolves ran out comfortable winners at The Recreation ground by 42-10.

This tie will once again see Wolves head coach Paul Cullen come up againts his former club, who last season missed out on promotion to the Super League in the Grand Final, losing to Castleford Tigers at The Halton Stadium in Widnes.

The match will take place on Sunday 21st May 2006, with a 15:00 kick off.
