A Less Satisfying Weekend

After the Heineken heroics of the previous weekend in Northampton and Toulouse, Leinster and Connacht were sent crashing back down to earth with home defeats. The mighty Leinster even shot themselves in the foot by failing to collect a consolation losing bonus point.

Meanwhile, as expected, the rugby warriors of Ulster made short work of overcoming their Treviso 'obstacle', acquiring another four-try bonus point. Undoubtedly the best Irish performance of round four of the pool matches was achieved by Munster who narrowly squeezed a victory away to Perpignan, having trailed at the interval, so a standing ovation is allocated to them.

Right, children, here are the scores for thee to drool over:

CONNACHT 9 Toulouse 37

LEINSTER 9 Northampton 18

Perpignan 17 MUNSTER 18

(TRIES: Penalty Try, Hanrahan)

Treviso 3 ULSTER 35

(TRIES: Marshall.L, Glroy, Diack, Payne)
