Connacht Crushed

The leading trio of Leinster, Munster, and Ulster all powered their way into the last eight of the Heineken Cup, but for Connacht, their dream of reaching the quarter-finals was comprehensively dashed by Saracens who proceeded to run up a cricket score against the west coast warriors.

Congratulations go to Munster and Ulster on securing home ties in the knock-out stages, while Leinster will have to do it the hard way, with a trip to Toulon to negotiate. A big handclap should go to the ever-consistent Ruan Pienaar who amassed all twenty-two of Ulster's points in their fine win over much-fancied Leicester. Here below are the final round of results from the pool stage:

Leicester 19 ULSTER 22

[Try-scorer: Pienaar]

LEINSTER 36 Ospreys 3

[Try-scorers: 2 Penalty tries, Healy, Murphy, Boss]

MUNSTER 38 Gloucester 6

[Try-scorers: Coughlan, Murphy, Murray, O'Mahony, Zebo, Jones]

Saracens 64 CONNACHT 6

THE QUARTER-FINAL DRAW:

Clermont Auvergne versus Leicester

MUNSTER versus Toulouse

Toulon versus LEINSTER

ULSTER versus Saracens

These fixtures have been provisionally scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th of April.
