Here are the editted highlights of the reactions to the Saints 34-20 victory over Wasps at Franklins Gardens. As ever there was too much to include you all so we've tried to include something from everybody. Lets hope for similar comments on Sunday! COME ON YOU SAINTS!!!
WMS
Thought Steve Williams had a massive game - along with many others.
What a transformation from last week!
Gazmo
Well-done Saints.
On talking to the ref, Matt kept quiet and played well.
The driving play from our forwards was good today.
Flyhalf
treeeeeeeeeemendous....after raspberry skinned greening and was then stopped whom did Budgen clatter at the ruck? he threw the whole supermarket at him.
Mark H
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!
When was the last time Saints were that committed, passionate, disciplined, and awesome for the whole 80 minutes?
Oxford Saint
Magic!
The mauling was terrific, Tactical kicking superb.
Awesome - all heart and passion beats cheats any day.
Spreadbury must, however, be able to keep up with the game, he missed all the first offences by them, and especially in the 1st half, and they got away with murder.
ps Spreadbury needs to get his fitness up. He was behind the play for the whole game...
St Bart
Difficult to pick on anyone not facing up and "leaving a bit of themselves on the pitch".

Wayne, (and Warren Gatland) were "debating" the legality of allowing a replacement in the line out, as Wally had been sin binned (along with Molloy) for what I thought was only "handbags", but I think Spreaders had a truly awful game.. What a defence, mind, I don't think ANY of our lads had a bad game, watching Wasps was like watching us against Saracens last week, passes going wide and wasted, Saints found the plot, and defended superbly. Bring on Ulster........... !
BiggySaint
Budgen's tackle near the end however, was a peach - best of a bunch of real beauties today. AB and Budge outstanding defence.
Cheesey
Super performance by the Saints.

I was as surprised as Laurence D seemed to be when Mat Dawson smacked him in the mouth right at the start of the game. I'm not sure why Mat was brushing LD aside no doubt for some dastardly deed. It happened in front of Mr Spreadbury too just as we'd been awarded our first penalty. It was not deliberate in fact I'm sure it was an accident. Still it could have been misconstrued. It did strike me that Mat was getting his retaliation in first

I have to say I really enjoyed yesterday. I thought it was a game that had everything, a real pleasure to watch; also the crowd seemed far more vocal than of late. Maybe it was our first “real” test at home. I think Smudger must be a happy man today, the “pride in the shirt” that he talks about really was there for all to see yesterday and I thought ALL the players put on a first class showing. Whilst first and foremost it was a great team performance two people stood out to me. Daws was back to his best, gone was the arm waving just always asking questions with his play not his mouth, also some of his cover tackling was top notch, great to see. But above even that was AB, I honestly cannot remember a better performance from anyone ever in a Saints shirt than AB put up yesterday (I am sure someone will put me right) he really does perform to the highest level week in week out but IMHO set new standards yesterday.
Chris Hoddle
Yes a good all-round performance.
Good to see that we kept it going throughout the game.
Broonie
lovely day, wasn't it ! the forwards really rose up and smote them ( yea, verily ).
St. Marlowe
Daws especially, since he stopped flapping, have a profound impact on the shape of the game. This side is still not yet the finished article that Smudger wants, but the pride, heart, skill and passion are beginning to show with each successive game.
WMS
The new, quieter Daws is, for me, the catalyst. He now sets a fine example, his tackling has been superb, he no longer tries to be a one man show (look at his stats compared with Howley's in the programme) and we missed him badly at Sorries.
David Taverner
I know it's going to be hard to pick MotM but I would like to single out Robbie Morris.
Broonie
snowy seems the only one without a word of praise so far.
for what it's worth, I thought he was terrific. our Backrow were round the ball likes flies on a dead donkey, and the pests Backrow-who are formidable on paper , suffered badly in comparison.

Now I've had time to gather my thoughts, I have to say it was one of the more entertaining matches I've seen at FG for a while. In theory we should have been further away from them earlier on, but Larry had one of his 50-50 days. His kicking from hand seemed far better this week. Still the occasional mistake at times but they are at least playing with a far greater tempo and pace and they didn't lapse into one of their usual 20-minute naps. The skills seem to be coming on nicely and the understanding between the players appears to be developing well. Defence is pretty awesome too.
Stockers
TOP PERFORMANCE all round. Smudger is getting everyone to focus more and that may be why Budge just gets on with the game and Daws engages in less chat and arm flapping.
Howlin
Still haven't got my voice back

I arrived at FG on Saturday without much confidence. Wasps are a hard side and have an attitude that can unnerve. A soon as the match began though there was a good feel. Great early try and the opportunities for more. My one worry was that we did not build on Sleights try and we even went to sleep for 10 minutes or so in the middle of the half. Once we picked up the pace there was only one team in it.
Howlin
After the game walking along near the South Stand , who should come walking towards me....I was just about to say "welcome to the premiership Mr Howley" when I see the look on his face. Totally and utterly smudgerated.
Howlin
I thought the variations shown in attack was one of the vast improvements.
Binary Bob
I think the fact that the team were up for this game was immediately apparent. A superb performance on their part, a great day for the supporters.
Saint Kenneth
One thing missing for sure is that nobody has mentioned Dawson other than Saints fans. Not one single post on the Wasps site slags our No.9 off. Not one mention in the press about Dawson talking to the ref. nothing!! Maybe we are beginning to see the new Matt Dawson that only does the talking with the ball in hand and just gets on with the game. Good for him, we all know what quality the guy has so its about time the arm flapper disappeared and his true quality to come through again.
Wayne Smith

JL
Not as many bits as you Smudger
Smuthy
Nah mate I’m getting a massive superman shirt that fits the whole team
Former Blue Peter Presenter
