COYSDC asked the fans what type of new players they'd like to see at Franklins Gardens. The options ranged from Southern hemisphere stars to recruitng from other team's academies. The top answer was to stick with the current squad and bring on youngsters from within the Saints own academy! COYSDC asked the fans the following question in this weeks poll:

"Following Ajacks's story, which type of player do you think Smudger should be bringing to Franklins Gardens?"

The results are as follows:

Stick to what we've got and bring players on through our own academy. 27%

Southern Hemisphere fringe players. 24%

Big names from around Europe. 16%

Big name Southern Hemisphere stars. 14%

Bring back Harvey, Tim, Lammy, Pagel and Batman. 12%

Players from other teams academies. 6%

Reflected in this poll are the success stories from the Southern hemisphere. They are not the superstars like Sarries Tim Horan, Bristol's Jason Little, Wasps Ian Jones or looking back our own Buck Shelford. Players like Blowers and Pagel have brought something special to the Saints and maybe Jorgenson should also be considered in this category.

It would seem from this current poll that, even though Saints fans are nervous about the coming season, they have faith in the current players and Wayne Smith's coaching.
