Give Us A Clue

Off to Coventry for our second consecutive away game of the new season and a game which will give us a better idea of how Mike Rayer's side will fare this season .

After a poor pre-season- including a 26-17 defeat in the Championship Cup at the Butts Park Arena - the big win at cash strapped Carnegie, with respect to the Tykes, didn't really provide any clues.

Coventry will be a different kettle of fish. Always difficult to beat on their own turf they will be looking for their first home Championship game to make a big impression on their own considerable support after going down 22-15 at Jersey in the first game.

If last season is anything to go by we copuld be in for a cracker.

At Butts Park the home team won  27-24 and then Blues edeged a 15 try thriller in the closing seconds winning 53-52. More of that would not be good for the blood pressure.

There's just one change to last week's side with on loan No 9  Alex Day starting.

Blues: 15. Rich Lane 14. Pat Tapley 13. Matt Worley 12. Fraser Strachan 11. Ryan Hutler 10. Lewis Robling 9. Alex Day 1. Sean McCarthy (capt)2. Robbie Smith
3. Henry Paul 4. Jordan Onojaife 5. Will Carrick Smith 6. Oli Curry 7. Joe Atkinson 8. Huw Worthington.

Reps: Andrew Boye, Joe Wrafter, Karl Garside, Dan Temm, Devante Onojaife, Grayson Hart, Oskar Hirskyj-Douglas, Ed Coulson

Well, not as bad as predicted. My one word answer was to the last minute Cov try not the performance. Bu66er.

I didn't make it to the game but sounds like we were unlucky and discipline cost us. Would be good to have a view from someone who was there.

Anyway Ealing up next, tough month, Donny away and Newcastle the week after, doesn't get any easier.
