Well it's the end of the season and Old Pete has brushed off his memory banks and here we have Round 1 of the COYS Summer Quiz. A few differences this year.
There will be a PRIZE!
The quiz will run fortnightly
competitors can only answer once - one posting per person. no altering or adding answers once you see other peoples efforts.
all answers must be on the board by 16.00 hrs on the Second Thursday following publication . The cutoff Date will be shown at the top of each Quiz.
At the end of the off season we will announce the winner - the person who has accrued the most points over the whole period.
The quiz is designed to be a bit of fun, and while the Quiz is designed to be Googgle and Wiki unfriendly, it is tempting to use these tools. Please resist the urge. If, in the opinion of the Quizmasters, it is believed that these tools have been used, appropriate sanction will be taken.
The editors decision is final in any disputes as to answers.

re the rules -have we got this right - one posting per person ? currently some have only answered one or two questions - fine if thats all you know the answers to -
but - you do need to answer all questions even if in your view a previous poster has answered correctly on other questions. Otherwise you will only score on the question(s) you answer.
So does everybody who posts a correct answer get points, or just the first person? If the latter, obviously instead of posting the ones I (thought) I knew straight away, should I have waited for others to post answers and then summarized them?
Make sure you go into the article from the message list, rather than from the message board index or via previous/next. It's a previously discussed bug with articles.
