If the idea of the summer quiz is to keep some interest in the board then last years format was better, Pete posted his questions as above, then people posted answers (right or wrong), queries, additions and we went off at tangents. Much more enjoyable.

Half agree with you Chris but in the first week someone posted all the correct answers in short time which sort of ended week one there and then. No tangents, no discussion..

OK folks - I will discuss your popits with an editor on Friday if not before.

If it helps your discussion, Pete, I was going to post something pretty much along the same lines as Chris.

Ill add a third to what Chris and Phil said. I decided not to get involved this year when it became a competition you had to e-mail answers in. Wasnt going to rock the boat though but Im much more up for a quiz along the lines of what Chris described - nothing too serious and a bit of fun.
On the flip side I appreciate it involves a bit of work for Pete so you dont want something that is simply done and dusted in a day.

ANSER -Einstein - all of the others actually worked on the manhatten project to develop the first atomic bomb - Einstein did not.

ANSWER James 1st wrote a tract against tobacco - initiated the writing / editing of the King James version of the bible and wrote a tract against witchcraft - causing major witch hunts . to occurr.


Q10 although not of this world the bad guys lived to the north of it and good guys lived to the south of it - where was this flame belt.

ANSWER Venus - in the Dan Dare comic strip in the Eagle comic. Treens evil green automatons lived in the north - the friendly and enlightened Therons lived south of it.
