So Saints almost perfect start continued with a win against Worcester making it 4 from 4.  Why almost perfect?  Well if this game had gone on for another 5 minutes then I think it would have been recorded as our first loss of the season - such was the collapse.  For 60 minutes Saints were dominant restricting Worcester to a measly 3 points whilst collecting five tries themselves.  then in that last 20 minutes the defence collapsed and Worcester ran in four converted tries to claim two unlikely bonus points.Being a Saints supporter is never good for ones blood pressure or finger nails.

First off thank you to the 96 people who voted.  It is the best so far for the season and shows that maybe we are getting used to the new way that the polls are being run.

Three major contributors this week and the stand out man - with his first two tries in GB&G - was Luther Burrell (or shoould that be Loooother).  I have to say that Sales loss very much looks like our gain.  Not many of us knew much about Luther when he signed in the summer.  yes we knew he was at leeds and then moved to Sale but he had made no impact there.  Many did wonder what Jim was doing.  Well I tell you what Jim was doing, he was signing a little diamond from under Sales noses.  I am told that Diamond did want to keep Burrell but could not guarantee any game time.  Well watch this space as I feel there is a lot more yet to come from luther.

It will be very interesting to see all the votes counted at the end of the season, not just the winners. I wonder who will have had most votes, perhaps without even winning a single MOTM?

For me, Smyler and Dicko have been incredibly and consistently good at the heart of the action, yet not caught the eye of the scrutineers yet.

Thanks Tim, that's fascinating.

There is a lot to interpret, but my first thoughts are that Lamb got slightly more votes than Smyler, and Flash and Jimmy Downey had surprisingly low votes.

It also shows - if our judgement is anything to go by - that most players caught the eye often enough. Rugby is indeed a team game!

The thing this doesn't show is how many games they started and thus votes per game. I missed the last season analysis. Perhaps if I get time I will do a story. I have and keep all the raw data.

Until the arrival of GP votes for our centres were almost like hens teeth!
