An instant classic...aside from THAT sponsor. For the first time in 5 years or so I may be parting with some cash for a Saints shirt!

I like it, I don't even mind the sponsor anymore. The one thing that bugs me are the shoulders.

why are the shoulders black, but then the top of the sleeves green? Would it have not looked better if the top of the sleeves were black then the green hoops in line with those on the chest?

its a small point on an otherwise lovely shirt.

Love the release video though! Absolute classic!

I like this. I also particularly like the cotton replica without the sponsor across the front.

A lot better than recent shirts but why cant they revert to the tone of green in 2000

Nah ... won't be getting that with the red and blue over the front of it. Shame as a really nice shirt otherwise.

Without the red and blue on the front the club would probably end up insolvent.

I like this new shirt and will get one assuming they have one in my size.

As to the red and blue of the sponsors logo, I don't remember the garish blue, yellow and white of the Barclaycard business logo on the Kooga shirts being so controversial. Different times I suppose?

What's the problem with the sponsor? It's still Travis Perkins, if they decide that they want to promote their Toolstation arm then so be it, it could just as easily be Wickes across the front of the shirt.

Why the criticism ?
I don't have a problem with the sponsor at all : I just don't like the colour clash with G,B&G that's all.

A good attempt, but the one 20 years ago was better, so Iíll continue wearing that one.

Why canít they get the green colour right?

No criticism on my part Fleetg, I just find it strange that the main problems people have with the logo is 1) the colours and 2) the name Toolstation.

The logo colours clash vividly with our G,B and G and is therefore every advertising exec's dream, as it stands out like a sore thumb. People such as yourself don't like this colour clash and I get that, personal choice etc. However I don't remember the outcry when Barclaycard had their blue credit card styled logo on our Kooga shirts a few years ago as that was just as intrusive.

As to the "Toolstation" name, I guess if people are so insecure and think that by having "Toolstation" as a logo on a shirt makes them a "Tool" they are probably correct(Sm73) *

I hear you Pyffy.
As you stated it's personal choice and I just don't like the clash of colour (which is why I didn't buy any shirt with the Barclaycard logo either). It's nothing to do with the Sponsors name as I couldn't care less. I also appreciate the fact that it stands out being ideal as it's purpose.
I just like the green and white or green and gold TP logo that's all.

Lovely shirt I think. Itís not the shirt but the logo, the whole thing, the colours and the name. Donít care whether it is TP who wanted it as part of their sponsorship deal, itís horrible. The shirt is one of the best weíve seen in years, just canít get away from the horrible clashing logo.

Never fear, the cotton replicas look pretty good and come without any references to tools.

Somehow the club and our major sponsor have to live in harmony when it comes to the kit. What we have is just unfortunate. Good news if there is an unsullied version as sponsors area apart I really like the shirt - enough to buy one

I think the cotton shirts look a little strange without a sponsor. I wonder if they could be reproduced with a TP logo.

I love this shirt - it's a beaut! Shame about the sponsor logo but you can't have everything. Think I'll make this the year I update from my 2012/13 jersey!

Not bad at all in my view. Gentlemen of my age wearing rugby shirts are by definition correctly identified by the headline sponsor ! Honourable exception to those brave souls with grey hair who are still playing veterans rugby.

So called 1st World problems really, I don't really care about the name Toolstation but I agree that the red white and blue is a honking clash, and the green looks a bit dull too.

But it's the performance that counts not the kit

I like it and will be buying one, the green in the picture above looks a lot darker than in other pictures Iíve seen, as we know, you canít have a picture taken these days without tampering with it!

Personally Iíve never understood why people get funny about the sponsor on a shirt, itís a teams shirt, they come with logos all over them, some will blend in, others wonít, TP have chosen to go with the tool station brand, most probably because they are pushing it and it stands out, way more effective and can be seen on tv a lot easier, going with the green and gold of TP tends to get lost in the shirt, if thatís how they want to go, they call the shots and Iíd wager that TP pay more money than some missed shirt sales.

To me, itís a sports jersey, doesnít overly matter what it looks like, I wear it in an environment where many others are wearing the same thing, it might even get an airing at the pub when a match is on and Iím not going anywhere afterwards, so it doesnít need to be on trend or the most fashionable thing in my wardrobe.

At the end of the day there is never going to be a shirt that everyone likes, but this one seems to have had a more positive reaction than any other shirt for a while

Perhaps someone could lobby the club to get Paddy Power as a sponsor, they are making a big thing of not putting logos on the football shirts they're sponsoring

because unless you know ToolStation is a brand owned by Travis Perkins whose head office is in Northants then itís like walking around with ďplonkerĒ written on your top

How are we ever going to grow our club and brand across the UK and the wider world (US) with that on the shirt!

Yanks would think itís a parody top.....

I'm over the Toolstation thing to be honest.

It is what it is and as mentioned before, I'd prefer to have Toolstation on a top and have the income from TP than have no income at all.

I really like the old Travis perkins designs, either the round TP or the white writing across the shirt. Always looked very smart and was a strong link to a local firm.

I will get one of these though, it looks very good as a top and the fans versions look to tick almost every box any of us shirt moaners have ever asked for.

you should be able to pay a premium to buy one without the sponsor name

Although I like Saints' traditional colours I don't otherwise care what they wear or what the design looks like or who the sponsors are; I just like watching Saints play rugby. I do have a scarf in their colours, which somebody gave me as a present. I do think for people who like to buy the shirts that they are rather expensive.

Is there a reason why the cotton kits don't have a sponsor on them? You'd think it would be in the interests of the sponsor to have their brand plastered everywhere.

I rather prefer the Logo the company uses of a roundel containing a big TS with a lot of yellow (gold?) in it.

Yeah I'm over the Toolstation thing as well. Yes the kit would look even better without it on it but I've never had one negative comment about Toolstation being on my other kits. I'm 36. It might be a bit different if I were still at school or a football fan but no one my age seems to care we're sponsored by Toolstation.

Well I never had a problem with the Tool Station logo. They pay money to help keep the club going and for that I am thankful. I really like this top and have already placed a order for one. Takes me bad to that glorious day against Munster nearly 20 years ago. I still have the one from all those years ago but it is now a bit tight (must have shrunk in the wash , know what I mean)
