After a titanic struggle against some of the word's largest corporations we are pleased to announce that the Independent Tykes messageboard (us) will be once again sponsoring Stevie McColl for the coming season.......
Last season we had high expectations for Stevie and I, for one, was not disappointed. Stevie established himself as one of the divisions most exciting attacking players . It was no surprise that opposing coaches nominated him for the Championship "dream team". The big surprise is that the club managed to secure his services for the coming season when many of us expected him to be poached by a premiership outfit.
It is fitting, therefore, that we reciprocate Stevie's loyalty to the club by sponsoring him again. If you would like to help with this sponsorship you can either use the paypal "Donate" button at thr top of the messageboard or pm me for other ways to get a piece of "Wee Stevie"

Excellent news. As Zand said - what's happening with last season's shirt? I've a feeling it'd look good* on a slimmed-down Gel!

100% behind sponsoring Wee Stevie and my 2/6d out of my pocket money will be on it's way. I am intrigued as to how the sponsorship is split up and how the price is bartered, and, above all, what happens if we don't come up with the goods and WW has to fund the balance?
A second point: "TykesRugby" on the giant screen, but in a small font, doesn't have any impact. I am not a graphic designer but perhaps a day-glo hat coud mean so much more?

The club let me know who is available & what the price is. People contribute what they can afford - the average is £20. Stevie is £600 (inc VAT) so we need approx 30 donors. As we get within £30 of the target I close the fund. Until that time I nervously watch the total rising!
I think it wise to delay my contribution until we are above the waist......

I have finally gotten around to donating but like Carnegiette I am getting an error message. Did you break it WW?
Needs sorting WW. I've been told by someone else that they have not been able to donate. Can't be having only half a Stevie playing for us. We need the whole deal!
The "Donate" button is now working again. The fund will stay open until Friday - just ears, nose and lips left!
Because of all the generous cash donations and pledges I received at Donny on Saturday I can announce that we have not only reached our target of £600 but we have a surplus which is halfway to sponsoring a SECOND player. We have only managed this once before.
I need 4 or 5 more people to donate to the sponsorship & then we will have ourselves one of the new graduates of the academy: Luke Cole.
If anyone wants a bit of Luke then post on here and I will arrange to meet you at the Ealing game.
