I imagine we will see Shillcock at ten with new boy taking up 15. I have a feeling Searle is going to follow Francois to Wasps, so there may be an opening for Smith on the bench.

Perhaps the rumours about Searle are true ? Given the injuries I guess it is as good as we can put out.
Sorry Batley isnt playing, does Kitch G need a rest ? Fidows injury says it all unfortunatly. Beck presumably missd out because of 6 - 2 bench split ?
Wish them all the best.

Searle will be loss if he goes, as we only really have Fin Smith and Shillcock as the other 10s

I'd argue that his flaws with the boot make him more or less redundant as a starting 10 - I know Shillcock has a tendency to stand flat to the line, but his left boot is a real asset that has put us in some good positions this season. As for Smith, only time will tell. We could do with a Gopperth type character to mentor Shilly and Smith as opposed to 3 fly half's who aren't quite the full package IMHO.

How the Lawrence try was not given I'll never know.Given that,we win the game.Lawrence robbed IMHO.

But what an improvement though but feels like 3 points dropped.Maybe the fans turning up next weds gave them the proverbial kick up the a**e.

A lot of great performances all round,Smith,Hearle,Hougaard & Lawrence to name a few.The future is bright where Hearle & Smith are concerned.

Can anyone tell me why Ollie's try was ruled out?

I think we can be proud today. Two very close decsisons made the difference and the SA replacements for Sale.
We did not give up and I almost thought that from the last move of the game we would score the winning try.
We are now into micro management of the game by TMO , Ridley had concluded and awared the Lawrence try.

The referee, in my opinion, persuaded the video ref that Ollie had scored after moving forward on his knees. Another example where slowed down play shows a very slight movement and no try !

The bottom line is if we turn up like that every week then we won’t have any issues.

Very disappointed with the officiating today with a handful of critical decisions every single one of which went against us.

Just want to add that that was a performance we could be proud of. The team showed grit and determination and at times looked really dangerous. They were clearly gutted at the end, but I hope that they can take some real encouragement from that.

Hearle played well and Fin did not look out of place. Venter and Ollie looked good and Little Kitch has some engine. Shilly was fab but Houggie was superb.

I have no complaints with the reffing, we were just unlucky. Half the refs would have given Ollie's try, half wouldn't. Half would have chalked off the Sale try, half wouldn't. It wasn't poor officiating, just unlucky.

I think that Hougaard is the first Worcester player to score a premiership hat trick is he not ?
As well as Shillcock played he did leave a crucial 5 points on the tee ( although Sale left one ) The only player I would give less that 7/10 to is Howe, and probaly Dodd for the slack in front of the kicker penalty that led to try number ? others7, 8 and 9. I also thought that G V-V played well considering how little rugby he has played.

I don’t like to bash officials as I know we wouldn't have a game without them, but am I the only one that thinks that decisions that could go in our favour gets scrutinised more than other teams?
It’s something I’ve picked up on in a number of our games this season.
Take today for example. Ollie scores and straight away the TMO wants to look at it. After a couple of replays I’m convinced the ref wanted to award the try but the TMO interjects and plays another dozen angles in slow speed. Try ultimately disallowed.
Sale later score and referred to TMO for potential obstruction. Reviewed very quickly using one angle, try awarded.
Please don’t take this as sour grapes, but it almost feels like officials expect us to have messed up a scoring opportunity.
Tell me it’s just me going mad.

I tend to agree, but did not particularly think today was one of them. I don't think that the ref was wrong, just that they were 50/ 50 calls that we came out of the wrong way - then again I suppose that is your point.

Yesterday was a massive step in the right direction. With a home crowd we may have seen it through.
Game play worked really well, hougard / shill / smith all executed really well. Would like to see smith and Shilly keep there starting spots for the remaining games as both seem to be improving (David or anyone fit to replace Howe on wing).

A few dodgy pens (annett in the air) and silly pens (Dodd 30s from coming on) gave them momentum. Sales bench also was much stronger than ours. Lewis & Ted both impressive from the pack, maul defence continues to improve, maul attack still a work on.

All said and done a big step in the right direction.

Much improved performance all round and was pleasing to see Smith looking more comfortable. Agree about Tom Howe though, looked well off the pace and his attempted “tackle” was pretty inept, I think I could have done better and I’ve never played!
Ollie very unlucky having his try ruled out, could have gone either way.
Hougaard fantastic and thought Venter had a really good game too.
Keep it up lads.

This thing TMOs do with us where they look at things going against us once or if at all, but look endlessly until they find something when it’s not in our favour is definitely a thing.

The challenge on Nick at Bath is another good example.

I really don’t understand the crossing incident. Think we only saw one replay which was weird, but the attacking player crossed in front of their ten, and crashed into I think it was Venter, taking him out of the game and creating a gap. That’s obstruction surely. We aren’t playing rugby league. I’m pretty sure the ref made the excuse that Venter chose the wrong person to tackle!! Difficult to properly judge when the ref and TMO have no interest in looking at it.

Heartening performance yesterday really. Obviously agonising they weren't able to get over the line in the end but they played miles better than in previous weeks and I thought Smith showed good touches which is key for next season. Sam Lewis coming back seemed to make a difference too.

I think we were genuinely quite unlucky not to win that one (via some 50/50 officiating) rather than firmly deserving to lose.

Very impressed with Hearle yesterday and hopefully he can remain fit and play for the rest of the season. Smith is certainly prepared to do do his fair share of tackling and covering which is impressive for someone so young. Shillcock again showed that he is a real talent that we can’t afford to ignore. If he is on the pitch I would always ask him to kick for the right touch line and possibly the left as well. Perhaps the coaches can give some consideration to this.

I think we have 3 good 15’s for next season, Nanai, Shilly and Heward and with Humphreys and Shston who can both fill in.

I don’t think Butler will be retained.

Dear Bevere, Ollie scored and referee thinks it's a try. TMO clearly disagrees and now has to provide angles to convince referee to change his mind which TMO does successfully. For the Sale try referee gives it but TMO wants to check how the gap for Curry was created. First replay shows there is no obstruction so why waste time showing multiple replays ? Maybe it's closer to paranoia then madness ? A preoccupation with hidden motives, fear of being deceived or taken advantage of, inability to relax, or being argumentative. Have a good day.

Instead of the CSI like examiation of Ollie's knees, the TMO should have applied as much scrutiny to Reed's no arms tackle that prevented him getting over the line in the first instance. Pentaly try for me.

I happen to agree.

I re-watched the Sale potential obstruction replay half a dozen times and I think they made a mistake. Venter is looking at Reed but is taken out by Sam James which makes the gap.
They may well have come to the same conclusion but I'd at least like them to review it as carefully.
The point people are trying to make is that the amount of time they spend before making decisions varies and we're quite often on the losing end of those decisions.
On another day or with different officials that could easily have been disallowed.

And yes I'm a warriors supporter so may been seen to have a bias as well.
I don't see any need to call someone argumentative or make snide comments, Bevere Warrior was simply giving an opinion.
