Thoughts with the fans and the club and hope this announcement at 13:00 is a positive one.
No club deserves to go through this and Warriors are one of the best truly family orientated clubs in the prem.
Hopefully Jim O'T can take away your pain and those thieving chancers that have been stripping your club, can be brought to justice ..

These ‘clowns’ are in disguise. On the face of it they seemed clueless, but they came in with a master plan. Introduced by Mr M at the time buyout with unidentified money. The whole idea was to asset strip and walk all over honest and passionate supporters, players and staff. Cold and heartless characters with a trail of failed businesses!!
The ‘clowns’ are not making us laugh, moreover in tears!
Investigations as to the running of the club, payments and internal deals to benefit individuals should be forthcoming. How can this possibly be allowed????

What is the point of a deadline if you move it?

I guess if the insurance and medical staff are in place a match could happen but for what benefit? Without the gate money of a full crowd surely it just costs money the club don't have?

The RFU are useless though so no surprise.

Am I alone in thinking the potential new owners are making a rod for their own back ? This impasse is fuelling the cauldron of anger and resentment towards W+G and by extension the new regime.
Do they believe the announcement of their takeover will be greeted with a fanfare . Not from me. I will retain a deep suspicion for a good while until they truly prove their intent and integrity.
The secrecy as to who they are is also making their task harder, IMHO.

I can see your point Woodywuss, but at the moment I am keeping my "glass half-full" perspective.

I have done lots of deals in the past and I was HUGELY sceptical (as were others) of the current owners' announcement that they had Heads of Terms done and that the lawyers would turn the papers arround in a day.

If the new potential owners are doing their due dilligence properly they will want to check many things including that the land hasn't been squirreled away or that onerous charges put on it. They will also want to check the validity of amounts claimed to be owed to the current owners and they will need to know that they have full visibility of all the liabilities to staff, players, the Govt, and all the businesses in Worcester owed money. Only when they have this info will they be able to do a proper deal and pay a fair price adjusted for things that they find out based on their review.

I have no idea who the new owners are, so I will reserve judgement on them until I do, but I have some comfort that they seem to be doing the right things now.

Once again, it does appear that the current owners have NO concept on how to do a deal properly and the wonderful Sixways staff have dug them out of a hole by allowing the game to go ahead

WE, I think I have posted three times during this whole sorry debacle. I will be one of the first to congratulate the new owners ,if and when they take the club on and fully explain their future plans without W+G.
Three posts could have been 103, but I choose to post as and when I can summon up a considered response. I think other posters have been more succinct !
My feeling is that there are enough people with sufficient intellect at the DCMS, Prem. Rugby ,CVC and the RFU, to bring pressure to bear on the negotiations taking place.
Whether this has been happening only time will tell.

I wait to see if these new buyers have enough cash to make Worcs a viable option again. I have to admit I do have doubts.

The RFU, DCMS, Prem rugby and HMRC are all kicking the can further down the road and non are prepared to take the final decision to call in the administrator hoping one of the others triggers the end game. Then they can't be accused of precipitating the demise of the club.

I hope someone out of these four entities has asked and been provided with details of who the prospective buyer is, otherwise I am of the opinion the new buyers are just hot air.

It is all so lacking in any actual evidence that you have to start wondering if there is some other motivation for doing the bare minimum to keep people believing in this story? Just purely a random thought, but what if a huge chunk of the TV money is payable at the start of the season, and they want to trouser this in addition to what they have already taken before they walk away leaving nothing but misery? That would be worth paying out enough in wages to those who had to be paid to keep this fairy tale (sorry, nightmare) going, if they then get many times that amount back, paid of course into one of the other companies, the one that has all the income, you know, the one that doesn't have all the debts. Yes, that one.

The best bet is for somebody to have the balls to force the club into administration, then at least somebody independent could work out the best way forward, and there is definitely at least one good option for the club in this scenario, possibly more.

I have done business deals. To be clear, Heads of Terms is an initial part of a sale transaction and a forerunner to Due Diligence being carried out. That would take months not weeks, especially around the financials. I suspect that when the DD is carried and scrutiny of the numbers and finances is concluded, any interested party will withdraw

I think we probably now have the best at present bell-weather clock ticking, (as I said) and put up by JP. But reading a bit of the plight of Hereford FC in the past, this may well go on for another 6-9 months. Also as I've said Jase&Col are not new to the game as sports financiers / legal guys.
Anyway the clock on tomorrow is close and only about 30 seats to sell if I'm correct. Big day and looking forward to it.

There is an interesting thread on the Chiefs board, some of this we knew already but it casts a little more light on the wider dealings of our “owners”.

My biggest worry is they sell out to someone dodgy in their circle and we end up with new problems. The secrecy worries me a lot.

Yep, i share that worry too - that should a sale happen then it’ll only mean we are sold to their mates and this is only the start, but we shall see - hopefully it doesn’t pan out like that.

There is an Interesting article today in The Times where Will Kelleher publishes the following

“Wasps have been struggling financially and Worcester Warriors have been brought to their knees by debt and alleged mismanagement, with questions being asked about whether the £15 million Sport England pandemic loan, with a 20-year repayment at only 2 per cent interest, was used as the government had intended“

I know there have been murmurs about this, but it’s the first time i’ve seen the accusation that they’ve mispent the pandemic loan published, albeit in a fairly vague and non libellous way

They also seem to have harvested £5m from the CVC money not long after they took over which presumably disappeared as some sort of 'management fee'.

Looking at the bigger picture of money in v money out since 2018, not easy as it flows through two companies rather than just one, a lot of money is difficult to account for.

There is for me a huge question on why so much debt and where all the money has gone.

The business was operating at a loss, but in cash outlay that was 2 or 3m a year. Yes Covid has cut revenue but equally we’ve had the largest Covid loan and a big pile of cash from PRL.

Where has it all gone?

The work your staff did to get the game on Vs Exeter and the good display from the players under the worst circumstances has to be applauded but I am left wondering if it might have been better to force the RFUs hand by not putting on the game. If the staff just said no, what could the owners actually do ? Sack them from jobs they are not being paid for?

Obviously IF there is an actual buyer who can step in and keep you going in the Prem that would be fantastic but if Administration is the eventual answer then getting there sooner rather than later will at least mean you can start planning for whatever that future looks like.

Its very tough to know but I do hope you get clear of those two jokers asap. Other than the financial mismanagement with SD, a good stadium, strong fanbase and all other clubs reducing spending this might have been a good season for you. Good luck all.

I think the owners can go harder at the fans, but they also have most of the print and tv media giving them stick too, so they have an increasing number of parties to blame.

Todays deadline came and went without a dicky bird. I expect tomorrow we’ll manage to get some sort of side out even if the players have to car share to get there but we’ll get another update saying it’s nearly done. Then we’ll get to Thursday and there will be another whole circus of can we stage a game Saturday.

At this point I’m half expecting Scooby Doo to trap one of the owners who will then be unmasked, claiming he would have got away with all the land if it wasn’t for those meddling kids.

Onwards, sideways and backwards…
