That was a Forum announcement from research done by one of our posters. number freely available on the ticketing website

The announcements can come from Warriors, Sixways Events, WRFC, Foundation, The Trust, Worcester City FC, Wychbold Council or The Forum

Housebound due to the presence of work team seeing to a damp proof course (don't buy an old house if you don't want old house problems), I have invested time in doing a "count-the dots" exercise, and I reckon ST sales are as follows:-

Re. announcements. I was having a gander at the Bath site and went down the rabbit hole of the posts about their stadium application. The architects drawings look interesting. There are a group making objections to the plans and it still seems some way off.
Anyway, I was just wondering whether there have been any positive/negative noises regarding our stadium plans ?

I certainly haven’t heard any negative comments. But Wychbold council are very much in favour.

Planning.
Firstly, I am not a lawyer, not involved in any way with council affairs, and this is purely keyboard research. A reminder for readers, don’t bother searching Worcester City Council or Worcestershire County Council planning, Sixways is in Wychavon District Council area.

There are 2 relevant applications which can be seen on Wychavon District Council Planning Portal.

First Application…Planning Ref: W/24/01823/SCR (10/09/24)
This was in effect a request for advice regarding the application, some sort of preliminary status.
Decision given 25/10/24.
Extract of key wording follows:-
“Decision Advice:-Based on the information provided, it is considered that the likelihood of any significant adverse environmental effects as a result of the development as suggested is low. The proposal is therefore not considered to represent EIA Development, and an Environmental Statement is not required.”
End Quote. That seems to close off that application.

Second Application W/24/02613/OUT. 31/12/2024
Consultation period started 09/01/2025
Consultation period ended 11/06/2025

This is the big one. Masses of detail, masses of documents and drawings, all viewable on the WDC Planning portal.

Cut to the chase…is there a result? No.

The “Expected Decision Level” is stated as “delegated”. No, I didn’t know what this meant either, but a quick AI review search under “English planning law, decision delegated” gives the following summary result:-
“In the UK planning system, a delegated decision on a planning application means that a senior planning officer has the authority to make the decision without needing it to go before the Planning Committee. If the decision date has passed but the application is still delegated, it's likely that the planning officer is still reviewing the application and hasn't yet reached a decision.”
End Quote.

So it seems straightforward enough to me so far. There is a massive amount of detail, we saw the outline proposals with fancy artwork etc. and it all looks very lovely.

There’s no decision, and when there will be is yet to be known.

I expect this will be a few hundred out. Mainly because there are large swathes of both the east and west reserved for non season tickets (for instance the entire bottom row of the east is reserved for disabled) but also because the club haven’t announced anything now for a while.

Why would you announce 2,000 and 3,000 but not a very impressive 4,000?

As to announcements, the club have never announced ST sales until that one-off release as part of the re-launch. You could always try asking Laura.

I’m quite happy my numbers are near enough to illustrate the broad picture.

That’s really, really impressive then. But how did you know which were sold as ST and which weren’t? (Ie quite a bit of the West was greyed out right from the off, presumably for media/subs etc). There are also a couple of very obvious blocks (I think these are in Blocks A and H of the East that have been greyed out from the beginning). Nevertheless these will only account for 3/400 at most, so you likely won’t be far off.

The club did do an announcement (maybe after the first few days or 2,000, I can’t remember which) saying they’d had record sales but they also did a big tweet after 3,000 too as can be seen here:

It seems odd to me, therefore that a really impressive milestone - which they do definitely seem to have hit - has gone completely unannounced. Combine with the hospitality and we’re likely close to or beyond 5,000. It’s incredible.

Perhaps it’s job done on ST’s, and they’re massively busy getting other stuff sorted.

Or going to have a final push when they announce the “final 5” and set a challenge of selling 6,000 Season Tickets.

A record ST sale for Warriors and demonstrate to RFU/Prem we are definitely here to stay.

6,000 would be mega. I don’t know why they don’t count hospitality to be honest. They are virtually the same thing in principal in that you pay up front to be able to come to all of the games in the season.

They actually should as long as the hospitality numbers are counted within the published capacity of the ground I suppose

Good point JP. Surely the seats in front of each box must be counted in the ground capacity for regulatory purposes, emergency exit routes, head count, etc etc.

But the box is sold on the basis of its capacity, once bought, the stadium neither knows nor cares how many actually attend on any particular day. Passes are issued for the rated capacity, sometimes not filled.

I wonder if those numbers are included in matchday attendance, did we not come to learn that all ST seats were included in reported attendance numbers in the premiership, rather than bums on seats?

There was a lot of chat about that some years ago, because on cold winter days with little or nothing to anticipate other than another loss, there were some who thought the reported numbers at Sixways were a little overstated !

On the planning debate (as I mentioned in another thread) Worcestershire Highways have raised a number of questions and have not given their approval. The6 are asking for a 3 month delay while their questions are answered. Typical highways give approval to things that really shouldn’t have been (yew tree hill devt) and submitted their objections after the deadline

Highways always seem to take a more cautious approach on the bigger Sixways things. I’m guessing it’s because of the proximity of the A449. I do have some sympathy with them submitting late comments. They’ve probably been on the receiving end of all sorts of funding cuts and austerity for the past 20 years. Not their fault.

I expect it’ll all be fine in the end.
