Is Mefin Davies set to quit Ponty?

Reports today suggest that Pontypridd Captain ,Mefin Davies is set to quit the club at the end of the season.

A welsh newspaper has today published an article suggesting that Mefin Davies is set to leave Pontypridd at the end of the season. Davies, is rumoured to be unhappy that the the club are unwilling to offer him a full time contract which will significantly increase his current 25000 part time wage.

Davies, the Club Captain and the only part time player in the squad has played an instrumental part in Pontys success at the end of last season and many supporters would be sad to see him leave. However, we must look at this realistically and would Ponty be stupid enough to not want to give their captain a full time contract. Added to this, the current season has only just started and so contracts for the next season are hardly going to be top of the agenda.

The newspaper also suggests that Richard Parks, Robert Sidoli and Gethin Jenkins are unhappy with their current deals and are in talks to sign new contracts.

Should we be taking these comments seriously or is the newspaper going over the top?
