Llanelli’s comprehensive win over an under strength Newbridge side has thrown the battle to avoid relegation wide open, with time running out for the clubs at the bottom. Ebbw Vale’s narrow loss at home to Swansea has put them right back into trouble as far as the dreaded drop is concerned, with the Eugene Cross park club having completed all 30 of their league games.

With results going against them, Pontypool must get something out of their remaining two games or face going down. Saturday and Sundays action promises to be the most nail biting yet.

Up the top Nearth won an open game at the Gnoll to cement second place, running out winners over third placed Pontypridd.
