The fourth edition of the state of play was published in April 2004. With few fixtures throughout May it was decided this would be our last of the current season.

As usual the zine' included updates from all the regions, a look back at how Wales faired during the Six Nations' along with a spotlight on the Welsh Premiership's impending run in.

We also linked up with game developers Digital Jesters to offer you a chance to win a copy of Pro Rugby Manager 2004.

Details of where to pick up your September copy of TSOP will be posted shortly, although all regional supporters clubs should have spare copies. Back issues of the State of Play are all still available in our online shop.

Originally formed by Welsh Rugby fan Chris Gough, The State Of Play Fanzine aimed to raise an awareness of regional rugby here in Wales. Chris discussed his ideas with a group of supporters, selected from each of the 5 regional teams and together they created Wales' first regional fanzine.

This initial trial issue in November 03 was relatively successful and as a result further issues were planned. However, due to other work commitments Chris had to leave the fanzine team and so the same group of writers from each of the regions continued to produce the fanzine on a monthly basis in February, March and April 04.

Now into it's second season the fanzine is hoping to build on the trial issues of last season. In the first issue of the new season, WRU Chief Executive David Moffett shares his views on Welsh Rugby with the team.
