Coach Lyn Jones may be tempted to rotate his squad, with a few fringe players being given their chance, although Jones will be desperate to avoid slipping up in similar circumstances to last season at Netherdale, although with a largely unrecognisable squad.

Simon Danielli a loan signing from Bath is set for his first start in Borders colours, as he looks to prove to Scottish selectors of his international worth on the wing.

He joins a side who despite there obvious lack of depth are gradually proving under new coach Steve Bates, only losing out to Connacht after a penalty kick from Eric Elwood seven minutes into injury time in Galway.
