Several Wales players have been released to play for their club sides this weekend. The majority of Mike Ruddocks' Six Nations squad have been allowed to put their feet up. The young Cardiff Blues pairing of John Yapp and Robin Sowden - Taylor start, whilst Robert Sidoli is given bench spot. The match against Edinburgh also marks the return for Nicky Robinson who has been struck down with a mystery illness since forcing his way into Wales's summer tour side.

Ospreys prop Paul James who is on standby to step into the squad for Iestyn Thomas, starts alongside number eight Ryan Jones. Jon Thomas is also on the bench.

Robin McBryde is to be given a run out for The Scarlets against a strong Munster team on Saturday evening.

Curiously Ian Gough has been rested by Newport Gwent for Sundays' tie at Lawnsdowne road against Leinster. Rhys Oakley has been given a chance to impress in Michael Owen's absence.

In the Zurich Premiership, Mefin Davies makes a rare start for Gloucester in their south west derby against Worcester, where he will go against soon to be Welsh qualified tighthead prop Chris Horsman.

Gareth Thomas, Stephen Jones and Gareth Llewellyn are all expected to play a part for their respected teams in France's top 16.
