Better late than never, my player ratings for the Wales vs Italy game. Some great performances from the Williamses, for my scores read on.

Solid under the high ball, showed glimpses of his attacking ability

Better than last week, made a break. Must be dropped.

13 Tom Shanklin                   7

Marshaled his opposite number who was not in the game, has that good habit of scoring.

OK, marked down really because we expect more.

11 Shane Williams                     9

Gets through the smallest of gaps, a pleasure to watch on form like that..

10 Stephen Jones                 7

So solid at present, no one is near him at the minute.

9 Dwayne Peel                   7

An interesting duel with Troncon, has a big match left in him before the end of the championship. position

1 Gethin Jenkins                   8

Big in the set piece and around the park.

2 Mefin Davies               6 Line out was a mess.
3 Adam Jones               6 Struggled in the scrum in the first half, got through it.
4 Brent Cockbain                   8 Biggest game in a while for Wales.
5 Robert Sidoli                 7 Improved from last week which is good news for Wales, we need him on form for the rest of the championship.
6 Jonathan Thomas                 7 Filled in well, better in the loose than Daf Jones as we knew, needs to brush up on his tight work, good tackle count.
7 Martyn Williams                   9 MOTM, was everywhere and in best form of his life, if Charvis is going to be put back in the Welsh side it won’t be at 7.
8 Michael Owen                 7 OK, I’ve come to expect more.
