Glory Daze

Saturday 19th March 2005 will be a day that will live long in the memory of all Welsh supporters, the day on which twenty seven years of hurt were ended on a simply perfect day.

Yes!

Eighty one minutes and twenty seven seconds the Stadium clock read, scenes of uncontained joy erupted, relief tinged with disbelief filled the air as at long last Wales had achieved the impossible.

Two years ago this side failed to win a championship match, now they had claimed rugby's holy grail, having outplayed a side they had not beaten in Cardiff since 1983.

The mass of red, white and green that filled the Welsh capital was simply unbelievable, as thousands of thousands reveled inside and outside the stadium on perfect spring day. Something that would simply not have been contemplated only a matter of weeks ago.
