Debut Time for Jonah

Legendary All Black Jonah makes an unlikely first start in Cardiff Blues colours tomorrow afternoon, but will his fellow teammates rise to the occasion or be overwhelmed.

Calvisano is a distinctly low key back drop for some one of the statue of Jonah Lomu to make his return to doing what he does best, play rugby. No real fan would begrudge him World cup selection in two years time in France, so whilst be a blatant marketing exercise for his new club, Jonah’s stint in Wales is absolutely crucial to his recovery.

 

Now for Jonah the talking off the pitch stops, having seemingly been in every sport publication possible since confirming his move in October, Saturday afternoon is likely to be an emotional affair. “I'd say I'm about 80-85 per cent of my maximum - of the best Jonah Lomu. Now I've got to put the performance in out on the paddock. It's a case of getting out there and enjoying it. I just want to play."
