The seasons not even over yet, but Bees players are already showing their commitment to the club by singing new contracts for next season. At the beginning of the month, Brothers Paul (scrum half) and Dave (full back) Knight signed their contracts to be in the 2004/04 season and now front rows Kevin Tkachuk and Terry Sigley have both joined them.

Kevin Tkachuck joined the Bees mid-season from Oxford University after appearances for Canada in the Rugby Wold Cup and already has made a huge impression with the club and fans.

“Kev’s a good player and he’s done well for us” Director of Rugby, Phil Maynard told local press.
“He’s played 27 times for his country and anyone that weighs 19 stone and can run the 100m in 11 seconds has to be useful.”

Terry Sigley, who joined the Bees back in August 2002, has also signed his contract to remain with the club.
“Terry’s developing as a front row forward and he’s come on again this season particularly in terms of fitness. He’s a Birmingham boy, too, and that’s something we need to encourage”

After the clubs success in the cup there are concerned that the Bees stars may get spotted by Premiership clubs results in Maynard losing his key players. The news of these four lads committing to the team is very encouraging for next season’s campaign.
