The Bees dominated up front and every time they moved the ball looked like scoring. It was a very comprehensive performance and win.

Sorry for the lack of match report last week, poor performance, poor game and a poor loss at Banbury 21-17. This week what a turn around, the local derby nature of the fixture meant the Bees were buzzing.

The Bees dominated up front and every time they moved the ball looked like scoring. It was a very comprehensive performance and win. The pack played exceptionally well and special mention must go to the lads who filled in so well for those away on North Midlands duty. These quiet unsung members of the squad played with great commitment and no little skill. A few special mentions up front: Liam Hinsley maintained his impressive early season form, Paul Stevens played magnificently in the second row and the back row in combination with James Sprawson allowing the Sils no time or space. The backs tackled well apart from allowing the Sils fullback a couple of darts, ensuring we played the game in the right areas of the field and converted most of the chances presented.

First try came when Woodroffe finished a fine handling move flying over in the corner. Woody also played major role in second try showing great footballing skills to kick ahead at least twice, Andy Williamson following up scored under the posts. Andy starting at fullback enjoyed a fine game including bouncing off the Sills winger. He played his best game in Bees shirt for several seasons, well done! The third try came from the backrow pressure on a poor tap back allowing newboy No.8 Nigel Burrows to burst clear and round the fullback from 35m! 19-0 at half-time but having played with pretty strong breeze the game was by no means over.

Sils scored immediately after half-time wide out but failed to convert. The restart was re-gathered by a flying Bruce [Stevens], and the Bees camped inside the Sills 22. This was pretty much the pattern for the second-half apart from one period of pressure from Sills. The Bees scored three more fine tries from Ben Millions, Rich Brennan and Danny Birtwistle. All three involved fine handling from forwards and backs, Danny capping a fine defensive performance with a late burst through a tiring Sils defence.

The Bees made several second half substitutions to give everyone a run including all the Under 17's who now look very much part of the team.
