Pertemps Bees director of rugby Phil Maynard has continued his summer recruitment campaign by signing back-row forward Guillaume Scheuller from Orrell. The Frenchman is a former captain of Toulouse's Under-21 side who joined Orrell midway through last season.
Scheuller was unable to prevent Orrell being relegated to National Two but he did enough in the defeat by Pertemps Bees at Sharmans Cross Road in January to persuade Maynard to contract him.
"When I asked around the players who had impressed them last season the view that Guillaume was a good, hard-working forward," Maynard said.
"He's another good ball-playing aggressive forward who is versatile enough to play in any of the back-row positions which will give me plenty of options next season."
Scheuller is the third back-row forward to join Pertemps Bees in a week following Pacific Islander Tu Tamarua, who moved from Rotherham, and Cae Trayhern, the former Pontypool captain.
Maynard also expects to complete the signing of former England winger Tom Beim before the end of the week.
The ex-Gloucester and Sale player, a prolific try-scorer throughout his career, has spent the last two seasons in Italy with Viadana. He has verbally agreed to join Pertemps Bees on a part-time contract.
