Birmingham & Solihull have secured a local derby against Stourbridge in the second round of the English National Colts Knockout Cup. Birmingham & Solihull have secured a local derby against Stourbridge in the second round of the English National Colts Knockout Cup.

Birmingham & Solihull, the parent club of National One side Pertemps Bees, edged out Leamington 10-5 in the first round and they will now host Stourbridge, who defeated Luctonians 9-3, in a game that must be played by October 16.

Northampton Old Scouts, who won the English National Colts Plate competition last year, defeated Bakewell Mannerians 23-17 in the first round and they will now have home advantage against Ampthill in the second round.

The competition was introduced in 1997/98 as part of East Midlands' centenary celebrations. The competition is still organised and administered by East Midlands and continues to attract a growing number of entrants each season.
