Saracens have won their last four Gallagher Premiership Rugby matches since their 30-32 loss at London Irish on 19 February. Saracens only home defeat in any competition since early January was 35-46 to Northampton Saints in the Premiership Rugby Cup on 19 March
Exeter Chiefs two game losing run in Gallagher Premiership Rugby ended with their 42-22 victory at home to Bath in Round 22. The Chiefs have won two of their last three away games in Premiership Rugby.
Exeter beat Saracens 18-15 at Sandy Park in Round 10 and have not achieved a Premiership Rugby season’s double over the Londoner’s since 2017/18. The Chiefs have won only twice before at StoneX Stadium, both in Premiership Rugby, in May 2015 and November 2017

I'm fascinated by the decision to play Henry at 10, (a position I don't recall him playing in for many seasons now) when we have Harvey. I presume Joe is on the bench following his recent form? I've not been able to watch the last few matches due to being abroad for 3 weeks so I'm intrigued as to what's happened or as to what's going on? Nice to see Stu back in the 23 (in other words the Maunder family grip on the 9 position has finally been loosened ! )😀. One recent post mentioned our lack of consistency at half back in terms of performance and presumably selection too. Have this week's selection at 9 and 10 ever played together as a half back pairing? Fascinating to see how they get on against Davies and Farrell! You never know...

Sadly I'm not optimistic 😔 think this could be a nail in the coffin of top four this year. Hope I'm proved wrong... sarries 25, Chiefs 14

Well, well well what to do, as our leader states “Which Chiefs will turn up”?
Well. Moving Slade is a good move, we have a strong pack, and maybe just maybe our players will kick into gear and realise this is the last chance.
Sarries 17- We’ll get there 24
Living in hope, but not downhearted if we do not make the top four, maybe a break will give us all a chance to fall in love with rugby again. It does seem at home games that we are all just going through the motions since covid.

Using my normal methodology I make it 4 B & I Lions for Sarries, and 1 for us. 9 current internationals for them and 4 for us. With the addition of
home advantage for Sarries (even at the dreadful Stonex) I can only see a loss for us.
HOWVEVER, if the right Exe team turns up we can do them. Remember how toothless they were at SP? That has happened again since, so a win is possible.

Pessimism or realism but I cannot see us winning this - hope I am wrong.

Going to have to be at the top of their game to beat sarries, going for a win as the boys will be fired up, chiefs 22 sarries 17 just one of those seasons i guess.

Personally, I'd feel a lot more confident if Grondona was at 8, Vermeulen was at 7, Hodge was at 14, Schickerling was at 3, Slade was at 13, Simmonds was at 10 and J Maunder was starting. Its just my opinion but I cant see the point of playing Slade at 10 with Hendo and Whitts outside him ???

Yet more injuries.. Simmonds, Ewers, Williams?! It really has been a tough season.. very little continuity

Hi BA, It may be that the coaches think that is the best chance Sladey has to influence the game. I hope they are right.

Rob does not know which team will turn up but mentally they have to win to have any chance to get in the top 4. Sarries are without Itoje and Manu V and are at home. With Farrell we cannot afford lots of pens. No Dave Ewers or Sam Simmonds big losses for us. I really fear the worst but my heart demands we sneak it, even though we disappeared in that last 30 mins v Munster. Saracens 29 Chiefs 30.

With yet more injuries to key players, I would agree with the point in the other thread, we are just a tired group of players and coaches, a good long break is what we need. Unfortunately, that is what we'll get! Can't see us winning this or making the top four!
Sarries will relish keeping us out the play offs, as we would if the boot was on the other foot! I can see us getting a bit of a thrashing. Sarries 41 Chiefs 12. Don't know why I feel so pessimistic!!

Interesting selections and l also do wonder which Exe are going to turn up. Hopefully it will be one that’s “read to rumble”.
However, my gut feeling is a home win Sarries 34 - 27 Chiefs and relying on luck to cling on to 4th spot.

We are Exeter, We are Chiefs

I think we might struggle up at Sarries, but the Gloucester result last night certainly helped our cause, they too have some tough matches left. Just need Bath to win against Saints now. We could still scrape a top 4 finish, a few weeks ago id have said we had no chance !

I am not as negative as some,I think we can win this.
This is a good Salaries side but not the great side of pre salary cap cheating discovery.
They are at home, they are a very good side but if we play to our best ability and Sarries are off we can win this.
I get hope from the fact that Super Maro is not playing,he has been such a pain in our a#se but big Dave's absence is huge but I am thinking positive.
We have to give this our best shot and leave nothing behind 🤞

we only scored 23 points in the last 2 games, which as been the biggest problem all season. The only player to come out of the Munster games with credit was Sam Maunder. the Munster and Leicester games we have not been the team with the match winners in our side. We dont seem to do the things we did well as well anymore, and we have not started doing the things other clubs do well either like off-loading. the team seems to be lacking intellect and leadership more than effort.

if we lose this game we should start with players that will be starting for us next season in the last 2 games

When I checked on Friday, bookies were suggesting Sarries win by 10, which based on recent form is probably a reasonable prediction.

Not wanting to be accused of being reasonable, I'm going for Sarries 22 - 24 Chiefs

Very unhappy about what appears to be going on at SP and I think that the players will be affected by recent events. Having initially looked at Sarries team sheet I was quite positive but now........

As most of us predicted a loss there are not a lot of changes in the positions. Only two games to go so Mike is looking good unless someone can get scores and results right. Not everyone predicts every week but the spread of points is quite wide.
