Patrice Collazo has left Gloucester in a shock transfer to French club Toulouse. It will be a shame "Toulouse" him (hee hee), but it seems that stretches to the wage cap mean that he will have to make way for the lesser costs or Rodrigo Roncero and the acadamy boys Toulouse were desperate for a prop, and needed to sign one before the Heineken Cup deadline, which is tommorrow. They had made contact with Collazo's agent, and a 3 year deal was signed today.

The reasons why Gloucester would want to offload such a quality scrummager are unknown, but it seems that a wage cap problem could be the answer.

Waiting in the wings are the likes of Rodrigo Roncero, Mark Irish and Nick Cox, and the lesser demands of these youngsters could mean that Gloucester will free up some of their funds.

Also, on Monday, the acadamy play their first game of the season. They will play Leicester, and it will be a chance to see players such as Simon Amor and Rocero, as well as less used players such as Chris Catling and Daren O'Leary, who has been linked with a move to Leeds or Rotherham
