Wasps will send out what amounts to a shadow side for Sunday’s LV=Cup clash against Cardiff Blues with orders to make themselves at home.

Defence coach Brad Davis said: “To date we are undefeated at the Ricoh Arena, so it’s up to this group of players to maintain the standard that has been set at our new home and to keep the momentum going.

“It’s a chance to give players who have been working hard on the fringes pushing for a place, an opportunity to impress, as well as some much needed game time for what lies ahead.”

Ed Jackson captains a side that balances youth and experience. Will Helu (ankle), Sailosi Tagicakibau (hamstring) and Charlie Davies (calf) get the opportunity to prove that they have recovered from their injuries while Andrea Masi gets a run-out at centre before joining Italy for their RBS 6 Nations challenge.
