Broadstreet 34 Hull 12

Street’s bonus-point victory was overshadowed by a suspected neck injury for Hull’s Colin Phillips midway through the first half.

The game was halted for 20 minutes and then switched to a neighbouring pitch as an ambulance ferried the prop to hospital.

Street were leading via Jeff Gregson’s try at the time and they made it 10-0 at the interval when Nick Thatcher broke through with a quick tap penalty.

Gareth Turner added the third try two minutes into the second period after breaking from the back of a scrum and, although Rob Devonshire responded from a rolling maul, James Otutaha set up Thatcher for his second and Street’s fourth.
