Well as the selections have been a joke so far this season, I thought we might as well dispense with the cash image and replace it with a real comedian. Let's hope this week brings us a little more luck.
Too much rugby... too much baseball (sorry Cubs fans)... too little time... This week's thoughts.
Friday: Rotherham v Sale:
Rotherham still look hopeless, Sale still look disappointing, Rotherham still pointless at the end of the evening as they are beaten by 15 to 20 points.
Handicap line (all average handicap lines): Sale -16: close, but Sale the call.
Saturday: Harlequins v Gloucester:
Harlequins to make the most of home advantage - I say by four, ComeinNumber10 says by 10.
Handicap line: Quins - 5: tight - but Quins the %call.
Saints v Newcastle:
Depends which version of Saints turns up. Newcastle are looking a little better of late. Both CiNo10 and I think Saints by a single point margin.
Handicap line: Saints -10 points. Take Newcastle with the start.
Bath v Sarries:
Bath to win this and make it 6/6. I say by 12, CiNo10 by 14.
Handicap line: Bath -14. Too tight. Swerve.
Wasps v London Irish: Wasps to win, I've got this down by seven, CiNo10 by ten.
Handicap line: Wasps -7. Tight. Probable swerve.
Leeds v Leicester: I think Tigers will scrape it by three, CiNo10 thinks Leeds by four. There is no handicap line, level start, your choice.
----------
World Cup games:
England v South Africa:
Right - no messing - South Africa receiving 16 points is a standout bet. With Daws out the game, no Hill, and what looks like a muddled build up
to the game, I can't see an easy win. SA are going to be up for this big time, I don't expect any help from the ref, and I just feel that the
line on England is always set higher than it really ought to be.
England will win, but the margin will be single figures I think. CiNo10 thinks it will be low double figs.
Australia v Romania:
The handicap lines are ridiculous - Romania are receiving 63 points. Romania the call. CiNo10 think Aust by 35, I think it could be lower still.
France v Japan:
France are 55 point favs - CiNo10 reckons a 45 point win, I reckon 50 plus.. tight call - I'd go France.
Wales - Tonga:
Provided Wales perform as well as they did against Canada I think a win of 15-20 points may be about right. CiNo10 agrees.
Ireland - Namibia:
We both have this down as a forty point Irish win.
Georgia v Samoa: Samoa, around 35-40 point win.
Best bet (ZP)
Newcastle +10 or so v Saints
Best bet (RWC)
South Africa +16 v England
Please note - I think England and the Saints will both win - but not easily - hence the recommendations. Just in case anyone misread this and thinks I've finally lost it... although after backing New Zealand to give up 80 this morning...
Have a good weekend...
COME ON ENGLAND AND COME ON YOU SAINTS!!!!
Now, how does that song from Spitting Image go?... I've never met a nice So.....

PS Remember winnings are not guaranteed. Nothing is guaranteed this season, except
uncertainty. That, and the fact that whoever I put in the last leg of a treble will
(fill in expletive of your choice) me over. Not that I'm bitter, y'understand.
PPS Go Yankees!!!
PPPS Chris, don't hit me.
