The Saints today announced the signing of Australian outside centre Marc Stcherbina from our old friends from the Basque country, Biarritz. Marc joined BOPB two years ago to replace fellow Waratah Joe Roff. Unlike Roff however he has decided against a return home and fancies a crack at the ZP. Having represented Australia at both A and Sevens level, including stints at the Kuala Lumpur and Manchester Commonwealth games he brings experience to the centre of the field that was starting to look a bit threadbare with just youngsters Chris Hyndman and Mark Tucker regulars in the position. The question is will Ben Cohen be continuing his foray at centre or will young Andy Vilk, certainly one for the future, be given more gametime in 04/05? Or are there are other signings to come?

The answer lies of course with new coach Alan Solomons but at least one French website still links Montferrands French Kiwi Tony Marsh with a move to Franklins Gardens.
