2B or not 2B?

By The COYSDC Poets
July 4 2002

West Midlands Saint, the godfather of gardens rhyme is joined this week by Howlin and St.Marlowe as the COYSDC messageboard produces more magical momments of merriment and mirth. Well ok not that exciting but at least I got to use alliteration! Check out the ditties below. West Midlands Saint

In the summertime
When there's no Rugby played
You can sit right back
An' watch all the clubs trade
'Cos the weather's fine
We've got new lads, brand new players on our mind
Who'll it be, wait and see
Smudge is out to see who he can find.

Though our club is rich
We can't buy just any chap.
There's a simple hitch
Called the Salary Cap
And nobody is free
With the World Cup, the REAL World Cup coming soon
With his little black book
Smudge'll soon have Jimmies sing a diff'rent tune.

And by August's end
We shall know what Smudger's planned.
We'll all meet again
To look at our new stand
And we'll sing again
For whoever wears the Black and Green and Gold.
But remember lads
Come the winter you will all get bloody cold.

West Midlands Saint
The wife tells me I'm a "Has been."

There are runners and string beans and broad
All of them sent by the Lord
But MY favourite's coffee
The sort that Offy
Are forbidden - "Too Young" - I'm assured.

Those kiddies are all goo goo eyes
And surely you all hear the sighs
From those poor little buggers
No not for the rugger
But for our Gorgeous Ben's hunky thighs.

SONG FOR SAINTS 2003

Play, Jimmies, play, play across that brand new pitch
Play, Jimmies, play, play across that brand new pitch
Whatever colours you have in your mind
They’re Black Green and Gold and you'll see them shine

Play, Jimmies, play, play across that brand new pitch
Stay, Jimmies, stay, stay with Smudger awhile
Until the season’s end, let me see you make him smile
His voice is soft but his method's mean
And you’ll be the best team that he's ever seen

Play, Jimmies, Play, play for the man awhile
Why wait any longer for the good times to begin
You can have your cake and eat it too
Why wait any longer for the Premiership
When it’s waiting there in front of you

Play, Jimmies, play, play across that brand new pitch
Stay, Jimmies, stay while the season is still ahead
We long to see that Heineken Cup
We long to cheer you deep into the night
Play, Jimmies, play, play across that brand new pitch

COME ON YOU SAINTS

Re: St. Kenneth’s good news

The day that your wife gives you twins.
Your face'll covered with grins
I think, for the best
You should get lots of rest
'Cos it's then that the trouble begins.

I'm sure you'll get over the shock
So sit yourself down and take stock
You just never know
But with pride you will glow
If one plays scrum half and one lock.

Howlin

In Nuthamptuns fair city where girls are so pretty
I first set my eyes on sweet Jarjar the Binks
As I hauled my beer belly
Through streets black and smelly

Singing Jimmies oh Jimmies alive alive oh

West Midlands Saint
It's true that we've long had our doubts
But now it seems Marlowe's COME OUT
Through a haze, caused by beer
Said "For Tiger I cheer"
He'll be getting his coat - Hear him shout!

West Midlands Saint
It took me years to be understood in these parts:

Folk say om frum Brum but I ent
To me ego this is kwite a dent
I shell now eff to taz
'Cus I need a good waz
But the wife's in the bog so I kent.

I dornt no wot you owd buoys think
Om shore yu wunt kick up a stink
If I run down the stairs
And ignore the kids glares
And releeve me good self in the sink.

Ov got meself in such a state
It's a fing you just can't leave ta fate
Wot's that - warm 'n wet
Yoov gest it I bet
Oh bugger - Ov left it too late!

West Midlands Saint

How long has our Chris been away?
It doesn't seem more than a day.
But it seems that young Rich
For control has the itch.
There's his tank, with it's gun aimed our way.

West Midlands Saint

With me beer gut I look alcoholic
But like all I am up for a frolic
So just watch me flirt
In my SUPER SAINTS shirt
You'll then know why I'm called Hyperbolic.
