Saints scrumhalf Dom Malone has announced his departure from the club to take up a two year contract over the Irish Sea with our good friends Munster.
Dom, affectionately known as 'Meerkat' for the way he peers over the scrum, has spent five years at the Gardens but has played mostly in the shadow of England and Lions scrumhalf Matt Dawson.
However Doms crowning moment was playing in the European Cup final of 2000 when the Saints edged out his new side.
With the form of Mr Dawson and the emergence of youngsters Ian Vass, Johnny Howard and of course the mercurial Archie Brooks Doms chances could have been limited at the Gardens and this could be the opportunity to start afresh with the Irish province.
We all wish him well in his new venture.
