London Skolars is a 2pm kick off on Saturday 23rd Feb

February 19 2019

Please note the kick off for the first home match of the season is 2pm on Saturday 23rd February. The opponents are London Skolars who did not have a fixture in the opening weekend. West Wales Raiders will be looking to bounce straight back after the reverse at Coventry Bears. Please do note the changed kick off time - this should give the majority of fans time to get in front of a TV screen for the Rugby Union international and the players too!

Good luck to all.

Just as I was getting used to the Saturday home games they throw in a googly ( cricketing term ) with a change of kick off time.

Massive task ahead - I hope a decent crowd attends - bearing in mind that last year, the side arrived late, only a slightly delayed kick off time prevented any preparation, and the result a record home win,and number of points from kicks by Neil Thorman, and I think a record home score.

Then, another record away win - Press Report

What got me was their head coach,on the League 1 show, state that we were 'grubby'. Unbelievable!

London Skolars dual reg with Wigan Warriors. They have also taken a cash investment from Toronto Wolfpack and host some Toronto home games. The next one being in April as part of a double-header.

They have signed Macani who scored a hat trick last year against us and this fella caused us some problems and he has extended his stay - Eddie Mbaraga

Skolars may not have opened their League 1 campaign last weekend
but they did play the annual Capital Challenge v Wigan Warriors,
and against recently promoted London Broncos in a pre-season game.

It should be a really good contest.

Record away win and scores I think you mean ?

Anyway please let us hope we do not extend our run of losing games any further! We have not avoided defeat since 20th August 2017 when we drew at Oxford - there is no better time to start!!

Good luck WWR.

Leon Pryce, the head coach at Workington, and former player with

Bradford Bulls and St Helens, reckons, after 11.20,that London will

win. He's Wrong! Ain't He?

21/02/2019 18:30
He says 20-30 points! I hope he is wrong.

The new signing for London Skolars was already named in the squad.

Xavier Rice - who hails from New Zealand.

Our squad shows a new hooker/full back, after last week

and a home debut for Robert Tuliatu.

A narrow defeat but that is the 33rd consecutive reverse for the club.

Final score 18 - 28.

We played ok again an intercept try at a vital time cost us last year we got hammered 74-6 away and 64-12 home I believe so things are on the up. We played some good rugby yesterday and tried playing more expansive rugby:
If anyone is bored today our development team play Cardiff Rl at Glamorgan wanderers RFC 130 kick off

Bitterly disappointed - but we looked good in patches.

Interesting to note that the try scorer on more than one occasion

for London, and the lad who kicked more than one good conversion, are both on dual reg from Wigan

Dual Reg Agreement

Our Welsh lads will do very nicely, thank you, once they gell with

the new recruits.

Difficult to change things when they only get to train for a few hours on a couple of days a week.

Frustrating,when we keep defeating ourselves.

3 tough away games to come - but long trips are good for

team bonding, and there should be far less pressure on the players.

What is needed is a win.

We can talk about things until the cows come home but a win and then another one is what is needed...

It's a tough sport but we have to compete..

Coventry look like a good side and Newcastle perhaps not as strong as people first thought?

Interesting times...

Let us hope the win happens sooner rather than later.
I am not sure who the weaker teams in the division are.
Obviously not Coventry...

At least it is dobtful we will finish bottom as -12 is one heck of a handicap.
