Another heavy defeat

Unsurprisingly West Wales Raiders exited the 1895 Cup at the first round stage going down 70-6 at Doncaster. The Raiders did actually take the lead before conceding a dozen tries in another heavy defeat. 2019 is shaping up to be another tough season as the club chases it first win since August 2017. The players have a chance to lick their wounds before returning to Doncaster on Sunday, May 26 for the league encounter between the two teams. This is followed by on Saturday, June 8 West Wales Raiders v Workington Town at Stebonheath and then on Saturday, June 15 away at London Skolars.

That win is out there somewhere. Good luck to all who pull on the Raiders jersey.

Somethings got to change. Kim needs help from the board, the departures have left a huge gap in quality.

The board appointed a new coach towards the end of the 2018 season to sort things out throughout the club and build a squad. We saw during the close season announcements of new players and heard about their skill levels and strengths - what has gone wrong?

We seem, worryingly, to be no further forward than we were last year.

Players leaving after less than half the season?

Like others on this forum it gives me no pleasure to ask these questions but fans, and prospective fans cannot constantly be told it "will" get better....

We need to show some improvement on the pitch..

Some people, myself included, were bitterly disappointed when we lost at Coventry at the start of this campaign.

At the weekend,a club that invested heavily in former Super League players, and recently sacked a head coach who had won a host of silverware, were defeated by a large margin at Coventry.

The highlights are available.

The side that lost, are our next opponents at Stebonheath Park.on
Saturday 8th June.

The side is Workington and they looked awful.

OK - let us hope that WWR can take advantage and push for a good result.

It will be interesting to see the handicap the bookies give us...

Interesting comments from a hard working, relatively young head coach, who had the All Golds punching above their weight, and is now at an established M62 Championship club - and who came across very well on a recent Back Chat programme alongside Ford of York
