I didn't see the game and have only watched the highlights.

From what I can see the midfield defence for the tries in the second half was abysmal and nowhere near what we need for a premiership team intent on climbing the league.

The body language during those moments was pretty poor, looking like they were blaming each other especially Humphries and Lawrence. They looked like they were playing at half pace and gave up too easily.

It may well have looked differently at the ground but close up on the highlights it looked as bad as it sounded on Saturday.

No matter what GJ says in the paper, Saturday was a dreadful performance and in no way can they be pleased with how those 4 games have prepared the team for next saturday against Leicester Tigers.

Still, you just never know but history tells us...

It's difficult to sum up a game from 2mins or so of highlights, but I agree with your summary:
- porous midfield defence - system or individual errors?
- generally lack of energy / heads down

The kick through was a moment of class, but the rest looked like poor play on our part.

Doesn't bode well at the start of a long hard season...

Listened to commentary and only heard Humphreys name mentioned once - when he was replaced by Howe!!
