A goat's eye view (Chapter 1) -Goat curry

Tasty!

So, as soon as I arrived in Yorkshire from the Jurassic Jungle, I didn't even have time to get to the Rhinos, whoops sorry, Yorkshire Carnegie Shop and see what I could have bought before I was whisked away on my Holibobs to a place they actually eat the likes of me! Not happy, I so wanted that lovely Yorkshire Carnegie Onsie, Mouse Mat and Duvet Cover and will now have to wait to make those lovely purchases.

For those that don’t know, I was fed up of being mullered in the Jurassic Jungle week in week out, never knowing if I’d get away without being mauled or worse, eaten. I decided that living in Yorkshire and supporting the mighty Yorkshire Carnegie was going to be a way less stressful way of life and here I am!

So what do I know about Yorkshire Carnegie? Well I know that every time I watch England Rugby I am constantly telling all my Goat mates ‘Burrell, used to play for Yorkshire you know’, ‘Care, oh he used to play for Yorkshire too’, ‘Lanny, oh he was Yorkshire’s coach and still pops to the Arena of Dreams on his off days to catch a match’, ‘Cipriani, oh he got hit by the No 6 Holt Park Bus on the Otley Run in Yorkshire!’ and when I’m back home I know not to mention the ‘P Shares’ and refer to us as the Rhinos/Tykes/Leeds, etc! See, I know loads!

I have managed to purchase a Dongle and have some sporadic access to t’interweb (learning the language already!!) out here although it is utter pump and I probably missing loads of updates from the mighty Yorkshire Carnegie Media Machine! I have heard we have a new Coach/Manager/DoR/ScapeGoat (snigger, see what I did there, I am such a funny Goat)! Now, I liked Tommy and his style, however this season has been reminiscent of the Spartans’ stand at Hell’s Gate except with London Welsh standing in for the occasional battle so we needed a change and thankfully they acted quickly. Good luck Tommy McGee!

It remains to be seen what happens for the rest of the season and in the summer. Mystic Goat predicts a bit of a clear out with both players and coaching staff alike moving on. It will be sad to see some going however, if we are to fulfil ambition and give it a good crack next year, possibly Ring Fencing year, we needed a new broom, and apparently we now have a new ‘Brush’ (told you, I am hilarious)!

Oh one sad point, I was told there was a nice man who used to stand on the South Stand, he set trends and shouted things about referees ‘harvesting dog eggs’ and other such bants, I have heard he doesn’t go anymore as he is allergic to Rhinosauruses and this makes the Carnegie Goat sad. Hope he reads this and has a smile and one day takes me for a pint!

I hope to write ‘A Goat’s Eye View’ article on a kind of regular basis, however, if you are looking in for informative rugby analysis and debate, I wouldn’t bother reading it! I am not Brian Moore or Martin Bayfield you know, I’m a Goat!

You can follow me on Twitter for more amusing bants though, search for the @CarnegieGoat!

I hope once I get back to God’s Country I can meet some of you, I however i think my little hooves will struggle on the Headingley terraces and to be honest, I have to get out of here yet without ending up in a curry!

Very good! I normally associate goats with cheese, never with a sense of humour.
