England Rugby Sevens, Twickenham Stadium opens its doors to the finest rugby talent the world has to offer when The Emirates Airline London Sevens lands on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 May 2008, Bank Holiday weekend.

Fun is the name of the game as the IRB Rugby Sevens carnival rolls into the Home of England Rugby. Bring your friends and your family, bring their friends and their family, sort your fancy dress out and get yourselves down to Twickenham for the action packed rugby party of the summer.   Not only is the crowd part of the entertainment, but valuable points are at stake in the World Series. Sixteen international teams including England, South Africa, New Zealand, Fiji, Argentina, Australia, France, Canada, Spain and Wales will be in town for this internationally revered rugby tournament.  With 44 matches, Twickenham is set for a weekend of fast and furious rugby action, making it the perfect place to spend your Bank Holiday weekend.

England to face series leaders New Zealand

England will face series leaders New Zealand in a challenging pool at the Emirates Airline Edinburgh Sevens on May 31 and June 1.

Number one seeds New Zealand have had a dominant series, winning the first five cup titles and are still 32 points clear of second place South Africa. The two sides last met in George where England very nearly came away with the win scoring four tries to finish 24-26.

England kick off against Portugal before taking on Russia and will face the Kiwis’ in their final match of day one.

England v Portugal, ko 9.34am

Sevens heaven prize for England fans
Seven lucky supporters will walk away from the Emirates Airline London Sevens on Sunday May 25 wearing a money can’t buy England shirt.

The seven fans will be made to feel part of the team when they are each presented with their very own England player jersey in the Twickenham dressing room, on the second day of the event.
