England OPEN Training Day
To celebrate its centenary year Twickenham will host a free day of entertainment
for all the family starting at 11am.
Watch Martin Johnson's England squad train as Twickenham Stadium opens its
doors to the public on Wednesday August 12.
The highlight of the afternoon (2.00pm) will be an open training session with
the England squad. Fans can watch Johnson and his coaches put the players
through their paces; then see their England heroes up close as players like
Jonny Wilkinson, Ugo Monye and Phil Vickery sign autographs pitchside.
Jonny Wilkinson
Johnson said, "We held our first open
training session at the stadium last year and over 3,000 fans turned up. All the
players enjoyed having the supporters and the families here and we hope even
more turn up on August 12."
Twickenham's west car park will be open from 11am-5pm with coaching clinics run
by the Rugby Football Union's community rugby coaches and fun inflatables to
practice your skills.
Twickenham's World Rugby Museum is offering 2 for 1 entry for adults (£6) and
kids for a £1 when accompanied by an adult. Why not visit their special 'Off
the Wall' exhibition with a century of rugby posters? And the Rugby Store will
be open from 10am-6pm.
All fans wishing to attend should do so via the Twickenham Stadium North Car
Park (Gate D). Limited car parking will be available in the North car park.
Entrance is free.
We are fast approaching Twickenham Stadium’s 100th season.
And the first event to celebrate the Centenary is a training day at the stadium on Wednesday August 12 from 11am-5pm.
The England Senior and Saxons squads will be training on the pitch from 2pm, followed by a signing session where children will get priority.
Fun inflatables and rugby activities will be available in the West Car Park from 11am, including skills clinics and an opportunity to try out tag rugby. Have a go on the O2 bucking rugby ball or take on the England teams’ scores at O2’s Batak Duel.
