BMW Group Logo

BMW and the Rugby Football Union (RFU) today announced a ground-breaking partnership to develop the future talent of English rugby - the BMW Performance Academy - which will be part of the RFU National Academy Programme. BMW and the RFU launch the BMW Performance Academy



The RFU has awarded international event accreditation and registration company, Event Advantage Solutions (EAS) the contract to accredit all its Twickenham Stadium fixtures for the next three years.  EAS will utilise Accredit, its unique high security event accreditation system, to scrutinise all non-ticketed personnel from security, cleaners and service contractors to entertainers, media, support crew and players for up to 30 events per year.  EAS’s appointment by the RFU is a strategic move to heighten security and streamline its personnel admission processes into the grounds.  EAS will debut its accreditation system at the first QBE International between England and Fiji on 10th November.  More here


Dave Pearson RWC Touch Judge


English referee Dave Pearson has become the first Elite Referee Coach appointed by the Six Nations.  Pearson has spent 10 years in the Rugby Football Union’s Professional Referee Unit, refereeing over 300 senior games including 29 Tests, and will join on October 8.  Jon Davis, Six Nations Tournament & Operations Director, said: “We are very pleased to have Dave on board, particularly given his up-to-date experience at the top level of refereeing. Dave’s primary role will be to raise the standard and quantity of elite referees across the Six Nations.

Englands Ben Foden Stuart Lancaster statement on Ben Foden

England Head Coach Stuart Lancaster said: "It is unfortunate for Ben who has had a good run in the side and is a valuable leader. But we have a number of back three players who are playing well and this offers a chance for them. Our medics will work closely with Northampton Saints to help Ben's recovery and I am sure he will be available for the RBS 6 Nations."

 FP_Sevens_4 England  announced their 12-man squad for the first leg of this season’s HSBC Sevens World Series.  The Gold Coast Sevens on October 13-14 is the first event of the new Olympic sport’s biggest ever season, which sees nine legs of the global series followed by the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Moscow next June.

England will face Samoa, Kenya and Spain on the opening day of the HSBC Sevens World Series on October 13.


Gold Coast Sevens draw:

Pool B – Fiji, Australia, Scotland, Tonga

Pool C – England, Samoa, Kenya, Spain

Pool D – Argentina, Wales, France, Portugal
