England Rugby  January 2016- In Review

 

NEWS   Three servants of English rugby were awarded New Year’s Honours.England and Sale Sharks winger Mark Cueto was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) while former Rugby Football President LeRoy Angel and Lymm High School stalwart Len Davies were awarded British Empire Medals

The Rugby Football Union (RFU) and Old Mutual Wealth launched Old Mutual Wealth Kids First Rugby, a new approach to rugby for the U7 to U13 age groups which puts children at the heart of rugby activity at clubs and schools across the country.

Bhubesi Pride Foundation is about to embark on its biggest project to-date. Joining us in nine African countries, we welcome 38 volunteers representing 16 nations around the world.  Our participating volunteers, male and female, range in age from 18 to 60. And more coaches helping the charity to achieve its goals equates to greater impact on the ground. Rugby in Africa 2016 kicks off with the Bhubes iPride

England Elite:

Eddie Jones announced his England squad ahead of the 2016 RBS 6 Nations campaign. England Senior Squad for RBS 6 Nations & Elite Player Squad 

 Dylan Hartley has been appointed England captain and will lead the team during the RBS 6 Nations  England appoint Dylan Hartley as captain

 

The England senior team hosted an open training session for 15,000 of their biggest supporters at Twickenham Stadium.  313 RFU affiliated schools from across the country saw the England team train together at the Home of England Rugby for the first time under new Head Coach Eddie Jones. 

 

Grassroots clubs, local Twickenham residents, England Rugby Supporters Club members, Debenture and box holders, commercial partners and the RFU’s Try for Change charity partners were also in attendance at Friday’s open training, which included a Q&A with new captain Dylan Hartley and players Jack Nowell and James Haskell.

Ticket holders to Italy's two home games in the Six Nations rugby tournament will be able to visit selected city and state-run museums and monuments in Rome free of charge before and after the matches, Free museums for 6 Nations ticketholders to Rome games

 

England Women

England Women will kick off their 2016 Six Nations campaign away to Scotland on Friday 5 February at the Broadwood Stadium, Cumbernauld.  England Women 6N Fixtures 2016 announced

 

Men's 7s

 England have been drawn in pool C and will play France in the opening game  England 7s Squad & Fixtures Wellington NZ - 2016
