Coventry Rugby are delighted to announce that centres Callum MacBurnie and James Otutaha have re-signed for the coming season.
Callum MacBurnie initially joined Coventry Rugby on a loan basis from Championship side Moseley in season 2011/12 signing permanently for Coventry last season. This season Callum has starting 17 games with one replacement appearance, scoring 5 tries. Following early season injuries to Luke Myring and James Otutaha, Callum mainly played with Heath Stevens as his centre partner. A strong running centre Callum has also proved his strong defensive qualities last season.
James Otutaha, was recruited late in season 2011/12 as a series of injuries decimated the Coventry squad. Awarded a two year contract at the end of that season, James had a difficult start to the season with injuries and loss of form. A spell out on loan at Broad Street helped his confidence and James was recalled towards the end of the season. A hard running and strong centre James made his presence felt, especially in the home win over fancied Esher showing the form of the previous season. James made 6 starts and a further 3 as replacement and should prove an able replacement for Heath Stevens.
